Imagine a time and place where you cannot have your netbook or laptop and you badly need t o post your adventures and misadventures. Added to that, the only gadget you have is your mobile phone. What will you do? Well, mobile blogging could be your savior.

I am currently on field work and the only thing I have with me is my mobile phone. I got other gadgets to bring and mountains to scale and so bye bye to netbooks or laptop. Which is better: to set-up your own blog or sign up as a blogger for a blog network?

If you set-up your own blog, you have the luxury of what topics you are going to write and when you will write it. Blog networks will demand a certain number of posts per week (around 7 to 10 posts per week) and you have to apply which channel you are going to write forehand—will you be writing on gadgets or on celebrity gossips?

The big plus in writing for blog networks is the pay. They will do all the technical stuff and you just have to worry over what your next post will be. If you have your own blog, you will have problems on how to generate income. That requires some technical and web marketing knowledge.

Why not do both?

When you are sticking to the original idea of blogging as a personal online journal, you can have your own blog under a free blog hosting site such as Blogger so you will not have to worry about paying for hosting and domain name. Plus with the free service, you can generate income (meager or huge) by putting ads relevant to your blog at no cost (it is usually hard to earn money if your blog talks on personal day to day happenings in your life).

While you have a personal blog, apply for a bloggger position in one of the blog networks online. That means an added income for you. If you apply for several blog networks you could go into professional blogging. Prepare and over-prepare. When you go into an interview. It is assumed you are prepared. you shuold be well-dressed and groom. That goes to say you do not have spinach between your teeth and you have combed your hair properly. More than that, being over-prepared means you have anticipated what interview questions will be asked and you have thought about your answers. Role play your responses. Analyze your answers. Be critical. Repeat your answers until it comes naturally to you. Take a look at the mirror: do look like you have memorized your lines? repeat your best responses until they are entirely natural, until they simply roll off your tongue with the apparent spontaneity that comes only with successive repetition.

Be clear on what you want to achieve. Be well aware of what you have written in your resume. Hiring managers or recruitment people will ask you about it so be clear about your objective. There is little room in the market for an applicant who is willing to take anything or any position. The end story will be that s/he will get nothing.

Match resume records with your interview claims. It would be nice to hint your claims or interview responses to your resume--but do it subtly. Like if you have take special courses or certification, you may say "As I was taking my certification in payroll accounting..."

Be clear about your stength and describe your weakness as strength. When interview asked about your weakness, they either want to test your arrgance ('I don't any weakness) or want to know if you know yourself (Well, I never thought about that). Phrase your weakness as a stregnth, like 'I used to do things by the last minute but I realized scheduling or doing them in advance makes more sense.'

Are you going to find work immediately after you graduate or will you go travelling around the world?

Go find a job immediately when you are off from school? That may be nice: you will be earning money just when your parents stopped giving your allowance. The prospect of earning is very attractive; it could mean you will be buying that mobile phone you have been dying to have--of which your parents insists is a waste of money; your old mobile phone is still functional why buy a new one. If you have work, you think of all that money can buy and it excites you.

Brief sumary of what Buffett looks for:

1. Has the company consistently performed well? Sometimes return on equity (ROE) is referred to as "stockholder's return on investment". It reveals the rate at which shareholders are earning income on their shares. Buffett always looks at ROE to see whether or not a company has consistently performed well in comparison to other companies in the same industry. ROE is calculated as follows: Net Income / Shareholder's Equity . The investor should view the ROE from the past five to 10 years to get a good idea of historical performance.

2. Has the company avoided excess debt? The debt/equity ratio is another key characteristic Buffett considers carefully. Buffett prefers to see a small amount of debt so that earnings growth is being generated from shareholders' equity as opposed to borrowed money. The debt/equity ratio is calculated as follows: Total Liabilities / Shareholders' Equity. A high level of debt compared to equity can result in volatile earnings and large interest expenses.

3. Are profit margins high? Are they increasing? The profitability of a company depends not only on having a good profit margin but also on consistently increasing this profit margin. This margin is calculated by dividing net income by net sales. To get a good indication of historical profit margins, investors should look back at least five years. A high profit margin indicates the company is executing its business well, but increasing margins means management has been extremely efficient and successful at controlling expenses.

4. How long has the company been public? Buffett typically considers only companies that have been around for at least 10 years. It makes sense that one of Buffet's criteria is longevity: value investing means looking at companies that have stood the test of time but are currently undervalued.

5. Do the company's products rely on a commodity? e tends to shy away (but not always) from companies whose products are indistinguishable from those of competitors, and those that rely solely on a commodity such as oil and gas. If the company does not offer anything different than another firm within the same industry, Buffett sees little that sets the company apart. Any characteristic that is hard to replicate is what Buffett calls a company's economic moat, or competitive advantage. The wider the moat, the tougher it is for a competitor to gain market share.

6. Is the stock selling at a 25% discount to its real value? Once Buffett determines the intrinsic value of the company as a whole, he compares it to its current market capitalization - the current total worth (price). If his measurement of intrinsic value is at least 25% higher than the company's market capitalization, Buffett sees the company as one that has value.

Ask yourself if you agree with this philosophy, and if it works for the company, given its size and the nature of its business. If you see a company continually changing managers, it may be a sign to invest elsewhere. On the manager, ask does this person have the qualities you believe are needed to make someone a good manager for this company?

A letter of inquiry asks for more information regarding a certain product or service. Inquiry letters are of two kinds: solicited and unsolicited.

When a product is advertised in a local newspaper and you want additional information on the product or service and you write to the company, you are writing a solicited letter of inquiry. You were prompted to write to the company or person.

When you happen to read a column and you want to ask more information form the author, that is a unsolicited letter. The columnist did not prompt you to write him or her.

In the first part of your letter when it is solicited, mention the advertisement you saw. It would be helpful you include the date it appeared on the paper. When it is unsolicited, introduce your self first then cite the date and publication you read the columnist's work.

Then explain why you sent that letter, what is your reason for writing, before mentioning the information you need.

For solicited letters, express your thanks for the help that is given. When it is unsolicited, offer to pay the mailing cost if you requested additional materials or what.

Acknowledge that inconvenience you have bought to them and end that you are hoping for a positive reply.

On the technical side it is defined as a collection of texts, images, links to other web pages and other media related to its topic. Blog is already a shortened form of the word weblog.

Blogs can be written by a single person called a blogger. By now, multiple bloggers for one blog site is possible. Blogs now carry the option of having your blog read by the public or simply by the people you want to. When it is open to other people other than those close to you, your blog is said to be public. And when it is restricted to your friends then it is considered private.

When you keep a blog, it is dated and archived according to months or weeks (it is entirely up to you). Your latest post will be the first one seen by your visitor. A blog demands that you post regularly. Together with your post or articles you can include photos and/or videos.
