Saint Thomas Aquinas said that to commit suicide is to commit a mortal sin. As a believer of the natural law, Aquinas believes that it is natural for man to seek for survival. There is no one who does not love himself and there is no one who desires to be dead. He also said that to murder is against justice and man cannot do injustice to himself (suicide is murdering oneself)and so he sins when he commits suicide.
His second reason supporting that suicide is sin is that man hurts the community he is part of by committing suicide. Man is merely an individual, he is part of a bigger whole.
The another reason why Aquinas is against suicide is that he believes that life is a gift from God and it is only God who shall have control over life (and not man).
This statements is concluded and taken from Saint Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica.
