About

I always launch my collection on the 5th say of the 5th month, so the number 5 seems to bring me luck--therefore, I will name it No 5 - Coco Chanel
5Heralds is my first every attempt at blogging. I have placed so much thought into making the name--I presume. Looking back now, I cannot really remember why I named such blog as this. I would say, I initially planned as a list type of blog posts with 5 points per post. But not all post are that.

I am writing this About page 10 years after this blog was started. Yes, this blog is already a decade old.  It documents my attempt at blogging and earning money online. Of course, there were some offside post on weight loss. But mostly this site is a repository of my thoughts in my online journey of blogging and making money, mostly. My other interests include video editing, open source softwares, online marketing, and e commerce. A sprinkle here and there of some motivational or inspiration articles. There were years, however, I became dormant with blogging. Or those times I shifted to Wordpress.

I experienced the numerous changes to Blogger, from its acquisition by Google, to the policies on privacy then the EU policy on cookies. And many features I have wished more than 10 years ago that are now part of the blogging platform: featured post, popular posts, easy Adsense integration etc. The themes have greatly improved. There were sites before where you can copy and HTML code so your site looks more appealing.

I quoted Coco Chanel as she shares how she named her famously and highly successful perfume No 5.

OpenShot Add Text: Subtitles and Captions

OpenShot is an open source video editing soft. Adding subtitles and captions is quite tricky. Adding subtitles takes effort. Suggestions by GeekOutdoors - You can have the soundwave form displayed so you know where the talking and pausing occurs. - You also use the green marker to help you decide how long the subtitle should be shown. - Encode the subtitles in Notepad so you can easily copy and paste it later on - Turn off the snapping tool which is on by default; to remove subtitle overlap For captions, GeekOutdoors, - used footer text, shortened the duration to like 3 seconds - if you want advanced editing of the text, you will need to download and link Inkscape to OpenShot Check out  basic OpenShot tutorial  or  list of OpenShot tutorial .
