Did you ever ask yourself what makes you happy? Recently that has been the topic of debate amount legislators and nation leaders all over the world. They are asking what makes people happy. They have to know the secret to happiness because they believe that happy people will make the world a better place.
Is money the measurement of happiness? Social scientist say it isn't. In the US with its high standard of living there is also high rates of suicide. Philippines, a developing country is among the top ten happy people on the planet. Is money inversely related to money then? No: among the top ten happy people on the planet are the countries of Finland and Norway--both are developed countries.
Is family the measurement of happiness? It isn't either. You may live with your family and be miserable or live in a single parent household and be happy. Will having kids make you happy? The answer is 'no'. There was a survey in the US on when parents feel happy in their family life. The answer might shock you: when kids left home or are away to college. Why? Because by that time they can do what they want.
So, what makes us happy? No one is sure.
