5 Best Ways To Praise

If you don't boosting the morale of your staff, you may end up losing them. Giving praise is one way of retaining great employees. When you recognize the staff around you, you are filling their emotional banks; In the end they become fulfilled individuals with high productivity.

How do you do it? Here are five ways to give praise.

1. Be genuine in giving praise. Human beings are very keen to sense fake praise. Just because you know that staff have to be praised does not mean that you will praise them just for the doing. If you find something praise-worthy, do not hold back; praise your staff.

2. Be very specific what you are praising about. What has the individual done to be worthy of praise? Has the action helpful to the organization or company? Has it made customers more happy or satisfied? In connection to number 1, praising a specific action makes individual believe you are true to your word.

3. Be sure to tie praise with performance and not personalities. Praise how people work and not that they are intelligent that way you create an individual who is motivated. Instead of saying 'Wow', you are a great communicator' say ' You did well in interacting with our cold clients.'

4. Be not afraid to praise the same person. Just because you need to praise people that you set up a schedule who to praise next. If the same person is doing a superb work, go on praise the effort.

5. Be individualistic in praising. Different people want to be praised in different ways. If you want to be praised in public, it does always go that everybody likes that too. Treat individuals as they like to be treated. If you are not sure how to do, try asking them individually.

So the next time a good work or success is achieved, you can effectively praise the individuals behind it. Be genuine with your feelings; praise the performance. If the credit goes to same person as before, continue praising. Don't forget to individualize the praise according to how individuals want to be treated.
