4 Reasons Why You Can't Quit Your Day Job




If your current work keeps you from doing productive work then it must be time to quit. But still you are in that job you do not like. If you feel that the company you are working for is only concern with profit and give little importance to value then it must be the time to quit. Still you continue to work for this company. If your feel the boss is stealing your ideas and sucking every last drop of creative juice you have then it must be time to fire your boss. But still you see your boss every working day.

 If the workplace is so terrible what has prevented you from quitting?

 Corporate work provides an illusion of security.
 The certainty of paycheck at the end of the month versus the uncertainty of income if you are to start on your own has kept most of creative individuals to keep their day job. Well it is not true anymore that corporate work is secure. Your company can easily lay-off workers and have some of the jobs outsourced.

Corporate work provides exceptional benefits. 
Working for a corporation provides you with retirement, life insurance benefits and even medical saving plans. There is also vacation and sick pay. You have to get them yourself if you go on follow your creative pursuits. These benefits are of huge help especially if you have a family. It is actually easy to create a similar package of benefits while being self-employed.

Corporate work environment is familiar. 
The world of self-employment is scary and not the usual path after school. The corporate world is very familiar and you only do a specific job. Being self-employed you do the accounting, marketing, product development and distribution. When you think about it is just too much.  The tasks are overwhelming that you just want to stay where you are. But you can learn these or you can ask help. You can hire an accountant to manage the finances for you.

Corporate work does not require start-up money. People around you tell you that start-up cost is high. The truth is that you can undertake a new venture without much start-up cost. You can go from an employee to an independent contractor.

There could a hundred reasons why it is comforting to stick with a corporate work you do not like. But still self-employment is the best option in unleashing your creative spirit

OpenShot Add Music or Sound Effects

In OpenShot, you can delete the audio of your video and replace it with another one. You can right click on the video click and select separate video. Or you can click the video and let the audio mute. There is option to fade in and fade out for the audio.
